Course Information
The Bachelor of Physiotherapy program contains the basic courses like Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Exercise therapy and Electrotherapy. It also includes clinical courses like General medicine, General surgery, Orthopedics, Neurology and Cardio Respiratory, which will help the students get knowledge about various conditions to practice Physiotherapy. It is reinforced by skill development courses and research oriented courses with an aim of enabling students develop their skills and refine them towards the research studies in the field of Physiotherapy.
Internship
There shall be six months of Internship after the final year examination for candidates declared to have passed the examination in all the subjects. The internship should be done in any hospital recognized by the University. No candidate shall be awarded a degree certificate without completing six months of Internship. The Internship should be rotatory and cover clinical branches concerned with Physiotherapy such as Orthopedics, Cardiothoracic including ICU, Neurology, Neurosurgery Pediatrics, General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics, and Gynecology both inpatient and outpatient services.
The student has to do the dissertation during the period of internship as part of the curriculum of the BPT course and submit it for the fulfillment of the degree.
